India Is Blessed : Megadeth Touring!

Yes, India is blessed. And the blessing started with a movement that kind of began two years back. With GIR (Great Indian Rock), the mother of all rock events focusing on Indian bands going in such a right direction, with artists like Joe Satriani touring India, the rock scene is on the way to broaden the smiles of we metalheads :) This time its isn't rock. It’s Heavy Metal. I'm glad that Heavy Metal movement is back to India, it’s always better than the pure rock genre anyway.

So, the latest event added to this movement is the news about Megadeth touring India, and its not a rumor. The news from Times Of India says:

"Nothing can get bigger than this or more unbelievable as the world's top metal rock band Megadeth schedules to scoop down on the nation in October.

The surprise over the Joe Satriani show has hardly subsided when word comes that one of the primary metal biggies of the world, Megadeth, are all set to rock India in October. Megadeth in India? Yes, even though it sounds unbelievable yet it is true.

Confirming the event Cyrus Gorimar, director of the event management company which is behind Satriani's tour to India, said, "The Megadeth tour is confirmed. The performance is slated to be sometime in October. We have now decided on Bombay and Bangalore as being the two venues for their performance. Depending on how the Joe Satriani show goes in Kolkata we will decide whether we shall fly down Megadeth there or not. If Satriani's show draws a good response in Kolkata, metal buffs there can get to see Megadeth too come October."

For those uninitiated, Dave Mustaine is the frontman of Megadeth. It is the same Mustaine who used to play for Metallica back in 1982. But after being fired from Metallica and replaced by Kirk Hamett in 1983, Mustaine got together with bassist David Ellefson, guitarist Kerry King and drummer Lee Rauschto to form Megadeth. In 2004, Megadeth released their latest album.

From 1982 to 2005 Megadeth has been one of the top metal acts in the world. They have been whispered in the same breath as Judas Priest, Stone Temple Pilots and Metallica. The grapevine says that this band was set up by Mustaine to answer James Hetfeld of Metallica after Hetfeld fired him. Now, this wonder band of metal rock music is all set to blast India.

Do we hear a rush for bookings already?"

So, what you see above is truth, the URLs that prove the fact above can be checked below:

I'm damn excited about this tour. I love the songs "Peace Sells", "Hanger 18", "Die Dead Enough" and many more by Megadeth. But I'm biased towards Metallica. Had it been that Mustaine wasn't fired from Metallica of that stupid 'being drunk' reason, the world wouldn't have witnessed a band like Megadeth, and another chapter of music that Megadeth started would have been left untouched. I respect Metallica, I respect Megadeth. These bands are two out of Mighty-5 that brought the Thrash revolution, but since I'm Metallica biased, I wish I get to see Metallica live someday.

And thistime I'm sure I won't miss the Megadeth show. I know I've missed the two GIRs, and the performance of John Myung (bassist of Dream Theatre), and the show of the guitar god, the great teacher Joe Satriani , who has had magnificent students, one of them being Kirk Hamett of Metallica. I would have loved to see the man play live who taught my all time favorite guitarist. Seems like Delhi is again not on the list of the venues chosen for the Megadeth show, but things are still under as far as the show goes, and I too prefer Delhi, because its been a long, long time I haven't been there. Prayers Prayers! I hope the exams don't clash with the concert dates, or near by dates.

I read the TCS' real story today, the cover story of May 22 dated 'Business Today', but I'm not in a mood to write on it. And for those who wonder where did the ILP posts flew away after the very first post that discussed them, its because I've left studying the ILP notes, and instead I'm stressing on CAT. So, it’s the CAT-crap that the readers (if at all, any) here are going to get pestered about.

Long Live Heavy Metal.
